How to enter
This information will help you to familiarize yourself with the KIAF rules, choose a form of participation and register correctly.
First of all, read general rules and select the form of the participation. There are three options:
— Participation in the festival program without accreditation;
— Accreditation without taking part in the festival program;
— Accreditation for all KIAF’s events with taking part in the festival program.
General positions
Only entries that have been published or represented in the mass-media or embodied in other form (accepted by the client) during January 2011 – April 2012 incl. are accepted for participation in the competition program of the Kyiv International Advertising Festival. All materials, documentation and payment must be received in the Festival office till April 20. Details at Registration.
To take part in the festival program all participants should fill registration and entry forms in English (Ukrainian and Russian versions are optional).
Attention!
Categories: B. Press, C. Outdoor, D. Radio, K. Advertising Campaigns (K-2. Advertising series — only for submitted pictures) should have an English translation in the "Creative idea" field.
Categories: A. Film, H. Creative use of Media, I. PR projects, J. Marketing Services projects, K. Advertising Campaigns should have an English subtitle for the video presentation.
Entries without applications, registration form and payment are not accepted. Entries are not returned. Delivery is at the expense of the sender. In order to promote the festival, each entrant authorizes the Festival Organizers to screen or publish his ads with or without charge at public or private presentations, wherever and as often as the Organizers think fit. Each entrant confirms to the Organizers that they have the legal right to enter the Festival on the terms of these entry rules. Each entrant indemnifies the Organizers against all liability to any other person, firm or company and all loss arising from a breach by the entrant of any of these rules. Each entrant guarantees copyright observance (legal use of the music, photos, texts etc.) and commits himself to solve possible copyright debates. Winners of the festival may use prizes and diplomas of KIAF for popularization their creative work.
Kyiv International Advertising Festival 2011 is open to all creative, marketing, communication and media agencies, advertisers, clients, design or production houses, TV houses from: Albania, Austria, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lebanon, Lithuania, Malta, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.
Also, in Festival program could take part entries from other countries, but only if entries has been created for an ad market from countries list above.
Interactive and Creative use of media contest are open to participants from worldwide.
Prizes of the Festival
Competition program consists of 11 contests. One (1) winner is determined in each competition and awarded for the best work. Each competition consists of a competitive categories. Winners (“gold”, “silver”, “bronze”) and finalists (short list) are determined in each category.
There can be no more than two (2) “gold”, two (2) “silver” and three (3) “bronze” winners in each category. The number of the finalists is not limited. The jury has the right not to award prizes because of the non-compliance to evaluation criteria. The jury may decide to award the special prizes in some cases.
According to the results of all the contests of the official program, the Festival Jury Chairman defines the best advertising work of the Festival, which will be awarded the Festival Grand Prix. Work launched with the Grand Prix can coincide with the best work of the competition or be selected among the gold winners of each competition. If the winner gets the title of the best work of the competition, as well as this or that award, in addition, this work gets all awards, but the reward points are not cumulative, except the Grand Prix award. The reward points are added to the Grand Prix.
To conclude the results of the contest, we are compiling the list of participants with their respective points and contest awards. Participant who take the first place, will be awarded as the Best Agency of the Festival.
The victory, prize, reaching the final or a Special Jury Prize (not applicable for special prizes from our partners and sponsors of this information) bring the following points:
“Finalists” — 2 points.
“Bronze” — 4 points.
“Silver” — 6 points.
“Gold” — 8 points.
“Best” — 10 points.
Jury Prize Press — 10 points.
Grand Prix Festival — 15 points.
Costs and payments
Festival Payment Scheme
Payment for participation takes place after the completing of all registration forms on the festival website. Invoices are formed on “request” which notifies directly from a site. Please pay attention – you couldn’t edit entry form after sending request!
Within 3 days invoices will be sent to the contact fax number or an e-mail specified in the registration form. Ukrainian participants should pay in UAH, non-residents – in Euro. Ukrainian participants also (legal entities only) should send copy of certificate of VAT taxpayer to Organizing Committee by fax: 044 490 90 30. Invoices for non-residents are following the signing of the contract.

“Day Pass” includes:
- Full program of seminars and workshops during one choosing day of the Festival week

3000 UAH / 300 € (accreditation for one representative from the organization to all 4 days KIAF)
2700 UAH/ 270 € (per person in case of registration more than two delegates from one company).
“Full pass” package includes:
- 4 Days registration
- Full program of seminars and workshops during the Festival week (23-26 May 2012)
- All two award ceremonies
- Opening and Closing Galas
- All evening parties

Please pay attention! One-time tickets will not be sold this year.
Discounts
30% discount is given on series of entries (three or more entries in one contest as a part of a campaign). Every entry should have a clear indication of belonging to certain series in application form.
Please pay attention! 30% discount is valid for categories: A. Film, B. Press (except for BC. Press Craft), C. Outdoor, D. Radio (except for DC. Radio Craft) and F. Design. 20% discount for accreditation and participation in contest program for actual members of the All-Ukrainian advertising coalition. 5% discount for accreditation and participation in contest program for associated members of the All-Ukrainian advertising coalition
Payment for participation in competitions and / or accreditation held by non-cash (for individuals - through the cashier of the bank) or by credit card.
Entries submit
Please follow the next steps to participate in the KIAF program.
1. Read through the rules and categories in the entry section. Check the material requirements for each entry section.
Attention! Only materials that have been created since January, 2011 till April, 2012 and haven't take part in the previous KIAF, could take part in the competition program
2. Register online on the festival site:
- Fill in all fields;
- Please check your contact information carefully. It will be used for communication with the Organizing Committee;
- Make sure that you have entered the company name without quotation marks, parentheses, and ownership to the field "Participant’s name";
- The account activation details will be sent to you by e-mail after you provide all required information.
3. Submit your entry:
- Use your password to login;
- Choose the suitable category and complete the entry form;
- Complete all information about the title, advertiser, credits, compulsory questions etc.;
- Check the form details and click "Submit";
- Upload your entry online and please make sure your files meet our requirements.
Attention! Editing is possible only BEFORE the invoice request.
4. Request an invoice for payment after completing the registration entries:
- To request an account, make sure that the application is filled out
correctly. Also to upload your entry online please make sure your files meet
our requirements. Editing is possible only before the invoice request.
- Go to "My bills" of
your personal account
and check entries that are ready to participate and payment;
- Select form of payment and click "Submit".
An invoice will be sent in a 3-day period by fax or e-mail.
Attention! Entries are accepted to participate only after a request account (button
"Submit")!
5. You can send the printed versions of your materials before the April, 27 (optional) to KIAF’s Organizing Committee if you take part in DESIGN contest.
Accreditation
To participate in the KIAF program as a viewer, you need to perform such actions.
1. Read about accreditation types and prices :
- “Day Pass” Accreditation — you can choose to pay for any day of KIAF:
May, 23 — free pass for all the festival events.
“Day Pass” for May, 24, includes:
- View of all contest entries on KIAF Exhibition;
- Full program of seminars and workshops this day;
- Opening party.
“Day Pass” for May, 25, includes:
- View of all contest entries on KIAF Exhibition;
- Full program of seminars and workshops this day;
- First KIAF Award Ceremony;
- Festival party.
“Day Pass” for May, 26, includes:
- View of all contest entries on KIAF Exhibition;
- Full program of seminars and workshops this day;
- Second KIAF Award Ceremony;
- Final party.
- “Full Pass” accreditation allows visiting of all the festival events during 4 days.
2. Register on the festival website.
A few tips:
- Fill in all fields;
- Please check your contact information carefully. It will be used for communication with the Organizing Committee;
- Information you specify in the “Name of participant” line will be published on accreditation badges, so please specify only the name of the company (without “”, (), and ownership);
- The account activation details will be sent to you by e-mail after you provide all required information.
3. Choose your type of accreditation:
- Use your previously saved user name and password to enter;
- Select “Accreditation” in the “Registration menu” field ;
- Choose your accreditation type: “Day Pass” (May, 24/May, 25/May, 26) or “Full Pass”.
4. Identify representatives that will attend KIAF:
- Enter the name of the accredited person;
- Add the name of the company and position of accredited person;
- Upload the picture of the participant;
- Click “Send”.
5. When the list of accredited participants is formed, please click “Account request” for payment. An invoice will be sent to the contact specified in the registration form by fax or e-mail in three days.
6. After paying the invoice check the festival website for updates.

The rules of accreditation have changed this year.
Accreditation is registered to natural person, not legal entity.
Accreditation is an individual and not transferable to another person.
The identification will be carried out by the picture of the participant.
