DescriptionPrimarily I aimed to create an identity that would be smart but also loose and easily reproducible (as founders of this project are rather busy and have no spare time in a constant rush). The most loose and quickly reproducible place in our office is my working desktop, so I decided to immortalize it. Thus any item carrying icon of such a "loose and smart" brand style will appear somehow natural and harmonious. Here I coped with the first task. The smart side. I decided to make this image kind of "heartful" and even nostalgic for a designer: "the beginning" (with the name of the school kept in mind to prevent any dissonance). The chain of images went this way: Laboratory of Communications - LAC Project - "lac" is for "lake" in French - a water - water needs a tank - a bucket - filling. Bingo! I put it in pixels to continue nostalgic theme of the first "old good" versions of Photoshop. Not good, something's missing. Then I thought LAC is also some "lacker" - which lead me to idea of transparency. You know, the Photopshop transparency that is shown with grey squares. So I filled the bucket with grey-and-white "transparency" square pattern - and did the same with the inner side of envelopes, paper etc. That's how I coped with the "smart" idea of the logo.
